Group Visits to the Children's Museum

Reinforce the Learning and Schedule Some Fun Today!

Step 1-
Select the program that fits your needs.

Museum Discovery Time:
Have a fun-filled day of Discovery and Learning! Museum Discovery Time is one and a half hours of free exploration through our three floors of exhibits and activities.

For groups of 15 or more children:
$3.00 per child
$3.00 per adult
free admission for teachers and school staff


Adventure Lesson:
We offer a wide variety of engaging, interactive, educational lessons, all aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Your visit will consist of a 30 minute Adventure Lesson of your choice and includes Museum Discovery Time.

For groups of 15 or more children:
$4.00 per child
$3.00 per adult
free admission for teachers and school staff


Outreach Lesson - We'll Come to You!:
Give the bus drivers a break. Let the Museum bring a Lesson to you! Most of our Adventure Lessons have the ability to travel; all you need to provide is a room for us to teach in.

Must have a minimum of 15 children $3.50 per child


Girl Scout Patch Program:
Brownies and Daisies, earn your patches here! Bring your Girl Scout Troop over to participate in creative thinking and really fun experiments. Girl Scout Program fees include patches.

Brownie Girl Scout Lessons - Choose from: Science in Action, Science Wonders, Let's Pretend, Colors and Shapes, Numbers and Shapes, and Senses

Daisy Girl Scout Lessons - Choose from: Crayon Resist, Thumbprint Figures, and Water-Based Painting

$8.00 per Brownie
$7.00 per Daisy / Tagalong
$3.00 per Adult

Policies and Procedures
1. Two weeks prior to arrival, groups of 50 or more will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit equal to half their admission.
2. Assign one adult for every five children ages five and older. Assign one adult for every three children ages four and younger.
3. Minimum of two weeks for cancellations or a fee will be applied

The San Antonio Children's Museum offers fun, educational experiences that are unique in San Antonio!

All Adventure Lessons are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Some lessons may vary in grade level. Contact the Education Groups Coordinator for more information.

Adventure Lessons:

1. Water, Bubbles, and Other Wet Stuff
Learn about the properties of water, the water cycle, and water conservation. Catch a bubble and other fun facts about water!

2. Mixed Media Magic
Discover the big world of art by exploring shapes, colors, and textures. You're an artist at heart! Create a beautiful collage.

3. Salty Sea Creatures
Dive into learning as you explore the world underwater. Learn to swim like a fish. Create a coral reef and a fish of your own!

4. Storytelling Through Art
Learn about contemporary art and author / illustrator Faith Ringgold. Hear the story of "Tar Beach." Create a story quilt.

5. Stuffee
Stuffee - a seven-foot interactive doll - opens up to reveal how our bodies work. Learn from one of our two Stuffee classes:

Journey Through the Digestive System
What happens to food as it travels through our bodies? Take the journey with us and see! Learn why good nutrition is so important for your health.

Happy Hearts Healthy Lungs
Learn what makes a happy heart and healthy lungs. Map out the voyage of blood in your body as you delve into the Circulatory and Respiratory Systems.

6. Leonardo's Workshop
Meet "Leonardo da Vinci" as you become a sculptor, an architect, and a botanist. You will see that you're a genius too!

7. Incredible Insects
Creep and crawl through the tiny world of insects. Watch your classmate become an insect. Create your own insect and learn what makes them so incredible!

8. Electrifying Science
How big was the first battery? What's inside a light bulb that makes it glow? Shed some light on these and other electrifyingly fun facts!

9. Reading Adventures
Discover the fun in reading! Our story times feature playful stories with your choice of four story time themes.

10. Diamond Del's Gem Mining Adventure
Thar's gems to be found at our newest activity! Pan for amethyst, tiger's eye, garnet and more. Additional fee call for details.

11. Great Artists: Faith Ringgold
Learn more about the author/illustrator Faith Ringgold by creating a story quilt.
