Each year, SACM provides free admission for nearly 5,000 underprivileged children and adults through its Learn & Play Pass. This needed program is funded by foundations, corporations and individuals who share our philosophy of providing quality educational programming for every child, regardless of their socio-economic status.
With more than 100,000 people visiting annually, the San Antonio Children's Museum has made a positive impact on over one-million people since its opening in September 1995! For many children the San Antonio Children's Museum is their first museum experience. We introduce children to art, science, culture, literature and role-playing through our three floors of fun interactive exhibits. Research shows that children who are exposed to the arts and humanities perform better in all subject areas throughout their school career and life. These are areas often neglected in a classroom setting.
Admissions and admissions-related income cover only 60 percent of the Museum's operating expenses. We rely on contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations to provide this unique learning experience to the children and families of South Texas. We don't rent our facility - we own it, so more of your money supports programs, progress and growth.
